Common Core Standards
The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a state-led effort coordinated by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). The standards were developed in collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and experts, to provide a clear and consistent framework to prepare our children for college and the workforce. Whenever possible, we have identified which standards are referenced in our individual lessons.
Importance of Journalism
This is a statement from the National Council of Teachers of English on the importance of journalism in the English curricula. Some of the units in this website directly impact English classrooms and we thought it would be nice for teachers to see the policy statement from NCTE.
